The Glen Cinema is infamous in the history of Paisley, Scotland as it
had claimed 71 young lives in 1929 and went down as the darkest day of
Paisley’s Past. This website has been created to let you know more
of what and where the Glen Cinema was and its future in the form of the
current exhibition and the promotion and commemoration of the people who
died and the people who survived.
The Project:
The Paisley Development Association, Fablevision and Renfrewshire CVS
have been working together for the last six months in a unique partnership
to create a new Development Trust for Paisley. ’Cinema Buddies’
is the title for a commemorative project about the Glen Cinema disaster
of 1929 at which the new Development Trust will be launched. The project
aims to offer tribute to those closely associated with the disaster.
The emerging trust has commissioned FABLEVISION, Scotland’s leading
cultural planning company to project-manage the project.
